I have to trouble you but my wife and I are old and unable to do for ourselves. I have been ill all this Winter and had the Doctor attending me, at present my wife is ill in bed and the Doctor attending her, besides the medicines are very expensive. For months the Govt has been saving £7 per month on my pension and on today's rate of exchange they are saving £6.10/- in dollars. I can draw it in Hong Kong by power of attorney and have it forwarded to me at the current rate of exchange.
Apologizing for troubling you, trusting that you will give me an early and favorable reply, I remain, Sir, your obedient servant,
A. Mackir
